Here are two jugs, from NJ. Each sold separately. The first jug is from Princeton, NJ, a merchant's jug.
This second jug is quite RARE from Cranbury, NJ. The lettering is clear, my camera does not show the clarity of the writing.

ASSORTED 1800'S PA CANNING JARS
Wonderful Decorated Stoneware Jug, impressed with the potters name, C HART AND SON, also impressed with the number 2. The blue cobalt decoration is deep in color and thickly applied. Charles Hart was a NYS potter, doing business from 1866 - 1885. This measures 15" high x 8" wide and is in excellent condition. Price: $425.00
